Biography
Weiyu Zhang, a dramatic soprano and pianist, also serves as the music director of UMC. Her career highlights include singing the national anthem at Madison Square Garden in 2019 with Ms. Hillary Clinton in attendance. Weiyu has performed at world-renowned venues, including Carnegie Hall, the Great Hall of the People, the Beijing Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, Castleton Theatre, Tianjin Concert Hall and Shanghai Symphony Concert Hall, etc. Her repertoire spans a wide range of operas and musicals like "Gianni Schicchi," "Buoso's Ghost," "Red River Valley," and "Operabbit. "

Holding a master's degree in music performance from CUNY, a Bachelor's from China Conservatory of Music, and an Artist Diploma from MSU, Weiyu has honed her craft with professional development lessons at The Juilliard School. In addition to her vocal achievements, she is an experienced piano teacher, dedicated to inspiring students with her passion for music.
