Biography
Dr. Zhen Huang earned his Bachelor of Music from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music under Jie Hao, a Master of Music from the Manhattan School of Music under Alan Baer, an Artist Diploma from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with Jeff Anderson, and a Doctor of Musical Arts from Rutgers University with Alan Baer.
As a performer, Dr. Huang has held principal tuba positions and played in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall. He has performed with orchestras including the Shanghai Philharmonic and Puerto Rico Symphony, and served as principal tuba for The Asian Culture Symphony of USA. He won the gold medal at the Shanghai Spring International Music Festival Brass Solo Competition and third prize with his quintet, Bronze Brass, at the Jeju International Brass & Percussion Competition.
In his teaching career, Dr. Huang is a Graduate Assistant at Rutgers University, where he conducts low brass sectionals and prepares wind ensemble rehearsals. His students have gained admission to the Manhattan School of Music Pre-college and have won awards such as the "Golden Classical Music Award." Additionally, he assists students in producing high-quality audition recordings.​​
